Yes, this is yet another blog venture of mine, my new blog, obviously I’m now a certified blog addict, LOL! On the contrary, I’m spending more than what I earn, hahahaha! … Economically overdrop, LOL!

I really want to have this blog in Tagalog or Bisaya alternately, but I spent $10 for the .net waaaaaaaahhhh, that’s why I have to reconsider … hehehe.

I have this entry posted here since its education related and I’m working on having all the posts here related to education, awesome and not.

Anyway, going back to my title … THE IMMORTAL BOOK OF FILIPINO ABAKADA. Yun ang entry ko ngayon. Ang Abakada: Pangunahing hakbang sa pagbasa, wala ng iba. For those of you who have spent grade school ‘sa pinas’ I think you are too well familiar with this yellow booklet. This copy I bought at a sidewalk vendor while on my way home and thought about writing something for this week’s Nostalgia.

Virtually all parents and teachers during the heyday especially when you are attending public school has taken hold of this booklet. I can remember I would sit on our window frame, medyo malapad kasi yun, and read aloud so my mother can hear ….

ka, ke, ki, ko, ku

And this is done not in normal reading pace.. mabagal at ang tagal pa nung kasunod, tapos sigaw na yung nanay ko, ….ulit! Mali! That at times I just guess what’s on the picture …. Kuku, bahay …. Kubo pala yun… hinulaan ko lang. Nabatukan tuloy ako.

I cannot exactly tell how many generations this booklet has served and how many reprints this booklet has undergone, mayaman na siguro yung author, pero sa nakikita ko, walang karoyalty-royalty, asan naba yung Intellectual Property Rights nayun… ewan ko din..LOL!

A lot has changed inside this booklet, maybe because we’ve added 8 more letters to the Filipino Alphabet which was originally 20 and now 28. Added were C, F, J, Q, V, X, Z and N, so meron nang Xerox sa salitang Pinoy, pizza ….

Tingnan nyo to, Filipino naba ang zoo, ang zone ang zebra? Or maybe because we cannot just find an approriate term for this in Filipino, or di pa naimbento.
