style="text-align: justify;">So what is Android and why do I care about it for my school stuff? It’s actual definition is that – its an operating system made for mobile devices such as cellphones, not just any cellphones but the present generation smartphones and tablet computers, they’re developed by people led by internet biggie Google – yeah, it’s the same name teachers used to refer as noun and eventually evolved to be a verb. Anyway, if you’re not satisfied with that – our seasoned teachers here have their own definition – you know those things that made it possible for you to use your fingers to know your lessons using your cellphones, something people developed that’ll made us teachers extinct soon.

Since it was launched years ago, it already has its many versions – why do developers name them something that is edible? … gingerbread, honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich … just wondering if the next release will be Cola or Root Beer something to pair off the above

Anyway, I long have realized – that a technologically-driven educational system is where we’re gearing at and in fact, it should be, Philippine education authorities should act on the double, we’re way too behind already, let’s cope up.

In the beginning I never really cared what this stuff is all about, I had my Nokia Xpress music running and it’s serving me just fine so why the heck bother. Until one day, I run over this website, it’s called Android 4 Schools; it’s a website that compiles all these Android applications and devices that can be used as an educational aid using the smart phone and after so much nudging and sliding I was finally convinced to use it.

Heck, it might be a shame to admit, but this teacher as I said has not even upgraded even to a cheap smarter phone, oh yeah, if you would care to listen to my excuses, I’m just exploiting this older generation techno, test it to its limits, what now? Hahaha! Anyway, after so much a time spent along cellphone shops bothering shop girls to do a demo how an Android phone works, I finally carted one, yes, and guess what? You can take my case as a perfect example of …old dogs learning new tricks and loving it.

This is the boon side of this technology, I know techno is as good as its users, I hope I can cope up and I guess I am.

Personalized gifts for boys

Teacher Recommends

School Bags
<guid

But sometimes in this space and time where we’re even busier as anyone else, we always fall short of time thinking about these stuff, but don’t worry, this is the best thing about living in the 21st century, we’re given a very comfortable option that is to give personalized gifts.

Yes, if your taking my idea and you’re in the limbo right now looking for personalized gifts for boys or for girls, getting one online is the best thing you can do, your choice of bags, towels, rugs, balls anything little boys and girls, even adults would love.

I’m thinking of getting my kids school bags with personalized names on them, they look daintier than marking them with pentel pens which will make it messy in the long run.

Seriously, when I was still studying I never thought of planning my career, I thought during that time being a woman would always end up washing dishes, tending children, running a home, even at a point where a woman would decide to do productive job – blame it to patriarchy, but that would be another story. But this perspective of mine changed after I’ve known that, hey! Women can make it big too… but my realizations came in a little late.

A lot of career experts would say start planning your career path as early as you are in HS, that’ll start by doing things you’re really interested at, then pursue it through college and hit it right at where it’s heading after graduation.

But you know there are really situations or people for that matter that are in limbo which career path to take, a lot of them actually, they just enroll a course at a random and often end up doing nothing.

I found this YouTube channel, it’s called TheCareerThoughts’s channel, and it featured a lot of videos that’ll explain what it’ll be like to be one. Say you want to be a Funeral Director? Yah, why didn’t I thought about this before, it’s actually one of the most in-demand jobs in our society today and their likes are fast vanishing, this industry needs new breeds … if you have the courage, then you might as well consider, take a look;

<iframe

I cannot just leave them idle during these days; spending time playing on computer is I think more painful than shelling out my savings for their music lessons.

Truth is, my eldest son is not really inclined into music, although we own a midi keyboard it’s his father that’s very good at it, being a church keyboardist for a long time, so I was thinking even just knowing how to play the basic notes that would be alright with me, but my son opted to learn strings instead, so I bought a guitar last year, sadly, it was so hard for us to squeeze-in guitar lesson schedules during classes time, so we’re pushing it this summer, I’ve had an initial talk with Jhine Music Studio already and hoping we can get a favorable schedule.

He is showing interest with strings so I’ll leave it at that, I really hope my efforts and resources would not get into waste – a mom’s prayer.

Drillers reach long-buried Antarctic lake

Awesome Reads

Antarctic lake

I was at CNN today and this news headline just caught me – Russia says drillers reach long-buried Antarctic lake. It was said that these Russian scientists and many other collaborators has been diggin’ the ice for years to reach this Antarctic lake said to be buried on kilometer-thick ice slates for 15 to 30 millions years.

Among the scientific community this is an achievement, in their words ‘it’s an equivalent to getting to the moon’, this achievement will pave the way to many discoveries about how life was lived 20 or 30 million years ago, this may lead to the discoveries of many other primordial species that would explain more the origin of life in this planet.

So granting they’ve made and we’ve known so much about our past and we’ve got to understand how and what we are today – what now? How and what we’re going to do about this that would save us from apocalypse?

I’m not really prejudice about this thing, because if humans we’re just contented with the bone knife and the stone ax probably by now we’re still savage people going around hunting for meat, I could not imagine my self without washing machine, computer, french fries, cheeseburgers and Coca-Cola, I mean without these expeditions, experiments, discoveries, etc. and all that – human civilization could have stayed just like that.

Both poles are two of the major indicators of the status of our planet, a lot of researches would point to the data collected from these regions about the standing of human civilization today, it is really my prayer that in the future Planet Earth will still remain habitable for human species and that will remain as the most beautiful planet in the entire universe far from the sci-fi I’m thinking of right now and that it wouldn’t turn red just like Mars or produce it’s own color of inhabitability.

The changing value of coin

Awesome Reads

I was cleaning my drawer this morning when I found this silver 1985 12-sided, 2-piso coin, as of to date this is already out of circulation, in fact, when you use this to buy candies at a nearby variety store ‘manang’ [a Filipino term referring to older woman] will not accept this anymore.

The front side bears an engraved mug of a Philippine Hero, Andres Bonifacio; the flipside bears the amount value of the coin and an engraved picture of a coconut tree with its scientific name, cocos nucifera.

Back in the mid 80s this coin can take you places already, can bribe kids with a handful of candies, it actually helped me with my Science quizzes back then, it reminded me often of the coconut tree’s scientific name being the faithful coin in my pocket – I just realized how stingy my mom was before, how did I ever survive with only 2 pesos in my pocket?

Today it has lost its buying power but it has gained a new kind of power and Numismatists [Pronounced new-miss-ma-tist] knew every inch about it. I wouldn’t be surprised that one of these days, this lowly coin will find a rightful place next to your valued uncirculated 1927 silver dollar coin or your valued 1800′s Victorian coin, it’s actually not far from impossibility.

Anthropologically speaking, it’s really interesting to know how we humans have designed such cultural infrastructure – how we have arranged it, in such a way that a worthless artifact in terms of its actual function can essentially be worth a wealth of information that represents how human society have evolved and have managed to changed meanings of things over time.

Benefits of Book Rentals

Awesome Reads

Teacher Recommends

Book Rentals online

Do you love reading books but don’t have the budget to buy all the books that you want?
Are you a book reader but doesn’t like the idea of books just collecting dust inside the cabinet after reading it?

Are you a college student who wants to save on textbooks?

If you answer yes to any of the above questions, then renting books would be the best option for you.

Let us take a look at some of the advantages of Book rentals:

Money Saving. The price for renting a book is definitely cheaper than buying a new or used books. Client can choose among different plans available, which can depend on the length of rental, the number of books that can be rent at a time and more.

Convenient. It is more convenient to rent books than to buy them as it saves you time from going to the bookstore or library to get the books. Renting a book is easy, as clients just have to select the book that they want to rent online and the rented books will be delivered at their doorstep for free.

Space Saving. Most book lovers would agree that while it is nice to see their collection of books in their bookshelf, it still eats up space and books just end up collecting dust in their cabinet. With the system of renting books, they don’t have to worry about storage space, as they will just have to return the rented book once they are done.

Up to Date. Book publisher often release newer and updated editions of books and they don’t offer a buyback of the previous versions that is why students get stuck with the older editions instead. With book rental, their customers are guaranteed to get the latest as they always update their library to provide better books for their customers.

Wide Collection of Books. Companies who offer book rental have a wide array of books in their library that is why it is easier to find books, even those hard to find ones, just by doing a search.

One of the companies that offer Book rentals is Booksfree.com. class="alignright" src="http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab12/vernz_04/Always---Korean-Movie.jpg" alt="" width="270" height="386" />Awww, those were the words of a friend after watching a heart-warming film entitled ‘Always’, it’s a Korean Film starred So Ji-Sub [Cheol-Min] as the male lead and Han Hyo-Joo [Jung-Hwa] as the heroine, she was the lady lead from the Korean Drama Spring Waltz, Shining Inheritance and Dong Yi if you’ve been following those, then you’ll catch her great on this movie again.

The movie is about the fate of a boxer with murky past [So Ji-Sub] and a woman [Han Hyo-Joo] who became blind after an incident they both inadvertently involved with. I love the presentation of this movie, it wasn’t too draggy nor too fast, everything was spaced just perfect. Contrary to other Korean films I’ve seen which I cried a river towards the ending, I felt so home, and warmth with this film.

The juxtaposition of the soft side of life in love and optimism and the brutal world of illegal boxing was realistically depicted, while this is a fictionalized story, I actually read a lot about stories of illegal boxing involving large sum of money in the dark undergrounds of Thailand, so true that some even would die after the bout. Horrible.

Anyway, I always love watching films with perceptible endings, endings that doesn’t require much from the audience – if you’re into same boat as me, then you should not miss this movie.

The actors played very well, the soft character and aura of Jung-Hwa and the hard character of Cheol-Min made their chemistry worked so well.

If you’re figuring out what love and yearning is all about, this film would explain it. Great movie about life, romance, struggles and hopes.

I bet you’ll say ‘soak on my PC hang around with friends online’, I won’t lecture here how this schema is going to affect you, you’re online often anyway, you’ve probably have read a lot of those on your friends wall, but just in case you want something significant out of your PC, then I suggest you get yourself a hobby, I’m saying this because I’ve been a ‘vertigo’ victim, I’ve been indulging with my PC and now I’m learning my lesson the hard way so might as well share the fact that my hanging online indeed has gotten a toll on me.

Learning a hobby out of your PC can be a laughing matter these days, learning how to knit, how to paint leather, how to cross stitch? Come-on this is the age of mastery, how can you convince cyborgs to get an out-of-pc hobby?

But seriously, if you want to spice up life and want something more out of it, learn physical alternative, learn a hobby start it with what interests you most.

What does IPO mean?

Education Trends

Educational Videos
<guid
